ERICA FREDERICK is a queer, Haitian American writer from Orlando, Florida who holds an MFA in Fiction from Syracuse University.
She currently serves as Assistant Flash Editor for Split Lip Magazine. She has previously served as Fiction Editor for Salt Hill Journal, where she co-established the Arthur Flowers Flash Fiction Prize for emerging writers of color.
She has received fellowships from MacDowell, The Rona Jaffe Foundation, Tin House, VIDA, Lambda Literary, and the Hurston/Wright Foundation. She is currently at work on her first novel, Fight in the Night, about being big in all the ways there are to be big—in body, in worry, in Blackness in Florida suburbia.
